Project Overview

Hundreds of babies are abducted from hospitals worldwide. Psychiatric patients go missing. Expensive medical devices are untraceable in hospitals. To tackle the above and more problems, we have built an Indoor Positioning System (IPS). Using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, we will be able to locate the target in real-time.

Using RFID for tracking purposes is a relatively new project and a lot of research has been going on for the past few years. We are working in the Opto-Electro-Mechanical Lab under Dr. Kurzweg to build this system.

This project aims at building a prototype of an application which will give the user the real time location of the desired target within a certain region.
